Lucas has forthcoming journal articles in the area of queer theory, focusing on anti-futurity, terrorist assemblages, bad feelings, death drive, and self-shattering. He is currently interested in the antisocial thesis in queer studies (especially the work of Leo Bersani and Lee Edelman) and whether it can contribute to social change. He holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard, serves as a minister, and has taught philosophy and ethics for many years.
