Lucas has forthcoming journal articles in the area of queer theory, focusing on the antisocial thesis in Edelman and Bersani. He is also interested in the psychic underpinnings of cruelty and violence, the theory of the death drive, and research on Georges Bataille. He holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard, serves as a minister, and has taught philosophy and ethics for many years.
