Online ◆ Accredited BA, MA, PhD ◆ Debt-Free ◆ Annual In-Person Seminars
A college offering EU-accredited BA, MA, and PhD degrees, supervised by leading scholars of our generation across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Our researchers graduate debt-free and become co-owners of the institution they helped build.
Transformational
“GCAS is a safe space to piece through your beliefs with brilliant professors and peers, and emerge with a deep philosophical understanding of the world.”
Borderless
“GCAS is the future of thought, without borders — academic rigour without rigid barriers, and a global ecosystem of peers who view research as a living movement for real-world impact.”
Since 2013
GCAS is the first higher-education institution in the world to offer accredited degrees on a debt-free, cooperative model — owned in common by the researchers and faculty who built it.
Thirteen years on, GCAS remains the only college of its kind: independent, internationally accredited, and structurally accountable to its own community rather than to investors, state ministries, or tuition-driven growth.

In their own words
Human
At a time when education is becoming more automated and less critical, it’s a pleasure to be at an institution that hasn’t lost its human element.
Revolutionary
GCAS is revolutionary. It creates a collective context in which learning becomes synonymous with rewriting paradigms and imagining new realities.
Where we meet
Once a year, GCAS researchers and faculty gather in person — to study, to argue, to walk, and to mark the work of those who have completed their degrees.
The annual seminars are GCAS’s embodied counterweight to its online life. Over the course of a week or two, researchers from across the world meet their supervisors face to face, sit through working sessions with the scholars whose books they have been reading all year, and join a tradition that goes back to the earliest universities. The location changes — Florence in 2026, Paris, Prague, and elsewhere in years past — but the practice does not.
