Gabriella Simpson

PhD in Humanities & Social Sciences

Caribbean Studies, Black feminism, Political philosophy, Archival Studies, and Case Studies.

Gabriella Simpson is an aspiring Caribbeanist and philosopher. Her work aims to contribute to scholarship by placing Black feminism and Caribbean feminism in conversation with philosophy by examining the earlier contributions of enslaved women in the Caribbean and comparing them to the case of Save the Seven in Toronto, Ontario. Gabriella hopes to capture how Afro-Caribbean women domestic workers displayed philosophical ways of thinking through written communication, such as manifestos, flyers, and mission statements. She also loves writing poetry and attending theatre plays.
