philosophy of psychedelics, philosophy of religion, 4E CogSci

Tiago Faleiro is a PhD researcher at the Global Center for Advanced Studies, supervised by Dr. John Vervaeke at the University of Toronto. His research brings together the philosophy of psychedelics, philosophy of religion, 4E cognitive science, mysticism, Heideggerian phenomenology, and the study of transformative experiences.

At the heart of his work is the idea that orientation toward a transcendent ideal of "The Good" is vital for lasting therapeutic outcomes. His ultimate goal is to develop a framework that helps people embody the profound insights of psychedelic-assisted therapy in their daily lives, supporting sustained well-being.

Tiago holds an MSc in Applied Neuroscience from King's College London (IoPPN), where his research focused on psychedelic therapy, as well as an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Psychology.

He is the author of In Search of the Infinite, a book on psychedelics, and a forthcoming book titled Altar and the Machine, to be published by James Clarke & Co in 2027.

Tiago has served as an Honorary Research Assistant for Drug Science and hosts the Anagoge Podcast, where for the past five years he has explored consciousness, psychedelics, and sense-making in conversations with world-leading experts.
