I am an anthropologist whose work examines political subjectivities and racial formations in Latin America, with a particular focus on Bolivia and Colombia. I hold a Ph.D. in Social/Activist Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin, and my research combines ethnographic inquiry with collaborative and activist methodologies. Over the years, I have conducted extensive research on social movements, political subjectivities, racial formations, and intersectionality. My first book, The Social Life of Indianism: Politics and Indigeneity in 21st Century Bolivia, was published by the University of Texas Press in 2025, and I have also published my research in several academic journals. I previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Universidad Icesi in Colombia and as Director of Epistemic Justice and the Data Laboratory at the Baobab Center for Ethnoracial, Gender, and Environmental Justice.
