Andrew Grigiss

Andrew Grigiss

ماجستير في الفلسفة

Applied Philosophy, Metaphilosophy, Ontologies, Political Philosophy, Ethics, Philosophy of AI and Technology, Non-Western Philosophy, Latin American and Modern Greek Philosophies, Cinema, and Aesthetics.

Born in the now (in)famous Springfield, OH. Home to Lilian Gish, John Legend, and the alleged eating of cats and dogs.

Andrew earned his B.A. in Motion Pictures History, Theory, and Criticism from Wright State University. After living three and a half years in New York City he returned to his Ohio roots, soul-searching in an adventuresome fashion, before beginning his MA research with GCAS College in 2025. While still developing his own philosophical system and ideas, Andrew pursues theory with an express interest in practical and everyday applications. Some thinkers and texts that have inspired Andrew include: Teresa de Lauretis, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Cornelius Castoriadis, Arturo Escobar, Carl Jung, Epicetus' texts, Heraclitus' Fragments, Lucretius' On Nature, and much from art, books, and cinema. Andrew has many parallel interests that Zizek and others maintain in the areas of pop culture, low and high arts, and culturally gauche areas.

His top ten films at the moment are: Apocalypse Now Redux, A Brighter Summer Day, Beau Travail, La Chimera, Drive My Car, Entranced Earth (Terra Em Transe), It's Such a Beautiful Day, Pink Flamingos, Southland Tales, and The Turin Horse
