Political geography, Political sociology

Researcher at the intersection of political geography, computational social science, and the study of power. My work is rooted in Sudan, with an interest in how political space is contested and transformed, how armed groups emerge, consolidate, and collapse; how territory and population become instruments of control; and how geography shapes the conditions under which societies fracture or endure.

As the Risk Methodology Lead at ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project), I study these dynamics globally, combining geospatial analysis, network methods, and large-scale event data to understand the spatial and structural dimensions of political violence.

Background in Computer Science and Mathematics, with applied experience in quantitative and geospatial analysis, social network analysis, and data visualization.
