About Wamala
Wamala Twaibu is a leading voice in the human rights and public health movement in Africa. He is also a leader in the development sector in Uganda and Internationally. Wamala is associated with the Global Centre for Advanced Studies as a Student PhD Researcher.
Experience
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies from Uganda Christian University, and a Master’s Degree in Refugees and Migration Studies from Uganda Martyrs University (UMU), Wamala has proven track record in kick starting, reviving, managing and running successful organizations, institutions and social movements that engage with cutting edge human rights and development work. He has been at the forefront of many progressive social movements and agenda in Africa and Internationally. Experienced in transformation leadership theory and practice; has had the rare courage of being at the forefront of tackling taboo issues on a number of core human rights issues and standing in solidarity with marginalized women and men. His work has also been mainly towards addressing governance, human rights, and rights of People Who Use Drugs (PWUDs), organizational development, technical assistance, learning and innovation
