About Leonardo

Leonardo Mastromauro, 1988 (Trani, Italy). He is an artist, researcher and intellectual, he did his undergraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence (Italy), where he graduated with a thesis on the concept of subject in Latin etymology. He completed a Magister at the IUAV University of Venice, where he studied mainly with Antoni Muntadas and Rene Gabri / Ayreen Anastas, and where he graduated with a thesis in political theology on the concept of community. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Santiago, Chile. He is interested in the analysis of socially engaged artistic practices, the movements of international protests and activism, the forms of capture and appropriation of the capitalist system. His research seeks to raise theoretical parameters to think about a common practice. Leonardo is associated with the Global Centre for Advanced Studies as a Student Researcher for the GCAS Latin America Centre.
