My husband and I have lived and traveled throughout the world. We now own a 1902 folk Victorian house, have a young son, large garden and greenhouse, and several animals so travel a bit less. When we do travel, we actively seek out connection to the local culture. After 20 years of education in natural science and experience as a resource manager, I have become an official researcher of social and political thought at GCAS College Dublin. As a natural scientist, applied humanities appeals to me because institutional natural resources management now requires effective large-scale public communication campaigns on essentially philosophical questions such as: What is truth? What is nature? What is valid science? Who decides and how?
