About Giovanni

Giovanbattista Tusa is a philosopher, video artist and media researcher based at the Nova University in Lisbon, where is is currently a Research Fellow funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) at the CULTURLAB of The Nova Institute of Philosophy (IFILNOVA). He has studied in philosophy, contemporary arts, cinema in Italy, Spain, UK, Cuba, France. As the Director of the Institute of Critical Media at GCAS, he has been Research Fellow in France and Italy, and worked as Lecturer in Philosophy, Critical Theory, Cinema, Gender Studies in many institutions in Europe and the US.  As a documentary filmmaker and video artist, he has had his works screened in Cuba, London documentary film festival, Biennale della Danza in Venice, Coimbra and Paris.

Publications

His latest work, De la Fin, co-authored with Alain Badiou, has been published in France in 2017 and is currently under translation in English (Polity Press, Cambridge, UK) Portuguese (Cultura e Barbárie, Florianopolis, Brazil), and Spanish (Tinta Limon Ediciones, Buenos Aires, Argentina). His forthcoming book, co-authored with Jean-Luc Nancy, Défaillance will be published in a bi-lingual French-Portuguese edition.
