Cody Lestelle is the founder and director of the Academy for Gameful & Immersive Learning Experiences. Lestelle holds a Master of Autonomous Organization from UniTierra (University of the Earth) Oaxaca, Mexico. He is currently pursuing a dual degree through the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa including a Master of Education in Learning Design & Technology and a PhD in Political Science specializing in Futures Studies and Indigenous Politics. Cody’s academic and research interests have always been multidisciplinary and he is currently captured by the terrifying challenge of university’s transformation to multiversity in the midst of the Sixth Great Extinction. Through applications and innovations in games as medicine and play as pedagogy, Cody is transforming the same pervasive technologies that distract from confronting planetary crisis into plausible solutions to the same.
