Caputo is one of the most influential figures in contemporary\n    continental philosophy of religion, known for developing a &ldquo;weak\n    theology&rdquo; and a radical hermeneutics drawn from his readings of\n    Heidegger, Derrida, and Kierkegaard. His work has reshaped how a\n    generation of scholars thinks about faith, deconstruction, and the\n    event that stirs within the name of God.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p style=\"font-size:1.24rem;line-height:1.62;margin:0 0 1.1em;\">\n    He is the Thomas J. Watson Professor of Religion Emeritus at Syracuse\n    University and the David R. Cook Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at\n    Villanova University. His many books include <em>The Weakness of\n    God<\/em>, winner of the American Academy of Religion&rsquo;s award for\n    excellence, <em>The Prayers and Tears of Jacques Derrida<\/em>, and\n    <em>The Insistence of God<\/em>.
