About Nigel

Nigel Mulligan is a psychotherapist, addiction counsellor and trauma-based group therapist working in Dublin City. He is a registered practitioner of psychotherapy with the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP).

Nigel is associated with the Global Centre for Advanced Studies as the Dublin Coordinator and a GCAS Researcher.

Research Interests

His research interests include depression/psychosis, cyber-addiction, social justice, and psychosexual and intergenerational trauma. He is currently using philosophical and psychoanalytic methods to research cyber and systemic surveillance in contemporary society. He has internationally published articles on psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Nigel lectures on the Psychotherapy and Psychology programmes at Dublin City University (DCU). Nigel also wrote and directed an award-winning short film in 2019, DUST, on the subject of technology, drug use, fantasy and hallucination. He is currently writing a draft on a psychological drama series called ‘DRUID VALLEY’ based on real events that occurred in at town in Ireland in 1994.
