About Andrew

It is from my perspective that the philosophical practice as a way of life can lead to a better understanding of oneself, one’s community, and the world we live in. Andrew is affiliated with the Global Centre for Advanced Studies as the editor in chief for The GCAS Review and by also being one of our student representatives.

Research Interests

My research interests are based on the philosophy of technology, and political and social philosophy. I am interested in the history of political and social movements that have led us to the world as we know it today.

To better understand these fields I use methods found in practical philosophy and applied philosophy to refine questions and offer insights into new forms of discourse concerning modern issues. As well, I am interested in practical philosophy as a method of inquiry and communication – bridging the communication divide between different parties that are concerned with the same issue. Those issues mainly being the intersection of philosophy of technology, and social and political philosophy, but never losing sight of some of the original concepts and questions in philosophy – those being: ‘know thyself’, ‘the life unexamined is not worth living’, ‘what is the good life?’, and ‘how does one live in accordance with nature?’.
